Apple Computers Beats the Beatles in Court

The Beatles' company, Apple Corps has lost the trademark infringement legal battle with Apple Computer. The companies had signed an out of court agreement in 1991 on how the green Granny Smith apple trademark would be used by the two companies.

In 2003, Apple Corps objected to iTunes using its name and logo to sell music online and filed a lawsuit. This was the third lawsuit filed by Apple Corps against the Apple Computer.

This time, Apple Computer argued that the logo was not used during purchases at iTunes, it was only used on iTMS advertisements. The UK high court finally ruled that there was no trademark violation, but Apple Corps is not happy. It will appeal to a higher court soon.
