The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has not only given a Cabinet position to Elon Musk but also a makeshift resting place as the Tesla CEO is spending nights in the office.

Musk has told his friends, WIRED reported, that he is too busy to go back home after spending his day at work in the DOGE office based out of the Eisenhower Executive Office Building.

Last week, Musk told his associates that he had been invited to sleep in the White House’s Lincoln Bedroom at an exclusive black-tie dinner hosted by the Alfalfa Club. If this were true, the episode highlights Musk’s growing influence with US President Donald Trump and how he has been shown the way to enter the close circle.

Hard work wins the bread

This is not the first time Musk has made headlines for his work ethic. When Tesla was at the helm, the X owner slept on the floor of the factory. “It was my primary residence,” he said in an interview in 2022.

This is important because if the team thinks their leader is off somewhere having a good time, drinking Mai Tais on a tropical island, which I definitely could have been doing … since the team could see me sleeping on the floor during shift change, they knew I was there, and that made a huge difference, they gave it their all," he added.

After acquiring Twitter, Musk started sleeping at its San Francisco offices, where employees often saw him pacing late at night and being escorted to the bathroom by his security guards. He even attempted to have a bathroom installed next to his office to avoid crossing the floor during his stays.

Ukraine peace talks conclude in Abu Dhabi as Donbas issue remains unresolved

Trilateral peace talks between Russia, Ukraine, and the US ended without clear outcomes, with further negotiations planned in Abu Dhabi next week. Talks concluded after Russian strikes on Kyiv killed at least one, injured four, and left 1.2 million properties without power amid freezing temperatures. Russia repeated its demand for Ukrainian troop withdrawal from eastern regions, while Ukraine rejected any territorial concessions, leaving Donbas unresolved.
