Will hold Awami Parliament today, Imran Khan welcome to join: PAT chief Qadri

Islamabad: Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Tahirul Qadri said late on Tuesday that a session of Awami Parliament (People’s Parliament) will be held in front of the Parliament House on Wednesday, Geo News reported. In a statement here, Qadri said his party will make stage in front of the Pakistan parliament and he would welcome Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf’s chief Imran Khan at his party’s stage. ![Qadri1](https://images.firstpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/Qadri1.jpg) “Whether or not Khan will storm into PM House, we will not do so”, Qadri said, adding that the capture and destruction of government buildings is not part of their plan. Stating that PAT will not ask military for mediation or intervention, Qadri said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif should surrender before the law of the land. Meanwhile, following announcements by PTI chairman Imran Khan and PAT chief Qadri to hold sit-ins outside parliament, thousands of participants of the Azadi March and Inqilab March had proceeded towards the Red Zone. Around 2.15am (Wednesday), Qadri arrived in front of the Parliament House and alleged that Pakistan prime minister’s brother and Punjab chief minister “Shahbaz Sharif ordered to open fire on PAT workers”. “The present government is unconstitutional, we want to establish the national government for democratic reforms,” Qadri said, while asking workers “not to leave till national government is formed”. He also said that political differences should be resolved through political means. Meanwhile, at around 3.00am Imran Khan’s convoy also reached the Parliament House. IANS
