Betting platforms are bullish on former US President Donald Trump clinching a victory in these elections, even as polls suggest that he is tied in a tight race with rival Democrat candidate and Vice President Kamala Harris.
With polls closing in just a matter of hours, betting markets are firmly favouring Trump to secure a win.
Polymarket, one of the most well-known election betting player, is leaning the heaviest toward Trump. Around 8:30 am EST (7 pm IST), it had given him 62 per cent implied odds of victory compared to Harris’ 38 per cent, Forbes reported.
Prices on PredictIt, which in recent days suggested Kamala Harris had the better chance of winning, have now flipped back in Trump’s favour.
New York-based prediction platform Kalshi favours Trump by a 59 per cent to 41 per cent margin, while its rival, retail trading giant Robinhood, gives Trump a slightly lesser 58 per cent win probability.
Meanwhile, poll-based prediction models suggest the candidates are locked in a dead heat, their odds only separated by the proverbial hair’s breadth.
