Eilat port to close after bank accounts seized over tax debts

Israel’s Eilat Port is set to shut down after the Eilat municipality seized its bank accounts to cover significant unpaid property tax debts, Israel National News says in a report. Persistent attacks by Yemen-based Houthi rebels on commercial vessels have rendered the Red Sea shipping route too dangerous for most traffic, cutting off the port’s primary source of revenue. Syria's aviation sector recovery stalled by sanctions and regional instability

Efforts to revive Syria’s aviation sector are being severely impeded by a combination of factors, preventing a meaningful comeback, as per a report in Asharq Al-Awsat.
