Major General Yahya Rahim Safavi, a senior military advisor to Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei, has warned Israel and the United States of a war that could destroy them for once and for all.
Safavi, a former head of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC), has flagged that no formal ceasefire exists between Iran and the Israel-United States combine regarding the conflict in June and a war may therefore start anytime.
On June 13, Israel began a massive offensive against Iran with missiles and drones, which targeted the nuclear sites, air defence, air force, and other important military sites, and top military leaders and nuclear scientists of the country. Nearly the entire military leadership of the country was wiped off in the attacks.
Even as Israel battered the country’s air defences, acquired air superiority, and killed nearly the entire military leadership, underground nuclear sites remained out of bounds for Israel. On June 22, the United States bombed the underground nuclear sites at Fordow, Isfahan, and Natanz. After 12 days of war in which Israel and Iran exchanged thousands of missiles and rockets, US President Donald Trump unilaterally announced a ceasefire on June 24.
‘After that, there may be no more wars’
Safavi said that the next war with Israel and the United States may destroy these countries, not requiring any more wars in the future.
Iran is formally committed to the destruction of Israel, whom it calls a cancerous tumour. It considers the United States its main enemy and calls it the ‘Great Satan’.
“We are not in a ceasefire, we are in a stage of war. No protocol, regulation or agreement has been written between us and the US or Israel. I think another war may happen, and after that, there may be no more wars,” said Safavi, according to Iran International.
Safavi further said that Iran needs to become stronger as the weak are trampled in the world.
“We must strengthen our diplomatic, media, missile, drone and cyber offensive strategy. We, the military, do scenario-planning, we see the worst case, and we prepare a plan for it,” Safavi further said.
