Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said US President Donald Trump’s decision to bomb three nuclear sites in Iran has changed history forever. In his first statement issued after the US involvement early Sunday, the Israeli PM congratulated Trump for his “bold decision”.
“Congratulations President Trump, your bold decision to target Iran’s nuclear facilities with the awesome and righteous might of the United States will change history,” Netanyahu said in a video statement.
Netanyahu said the US “has done what no other country on earth could do”
“President Trump and I often say, ‘Peace through strength.’ First comes strength, then comes peace,” Netanyahu wrote in a post on X.
Earlier, Trump announced the strikes on three Iranian enrichment facilities — Fordo, Natanz, and Isfahan — and said that a “full payload of BOMBS was dropped” on Fordo.
“All planes are safely on their way home,” Trump added in his post. “Congratulations to our great American Warriors. There is not another military in the World that could have done this. NOW IS THE TIME FOR PEACE!”
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt on Thursday had said that Trump would decide whether to move forward with US strikes on Iran within two weeks.
But on Saturday afternoon, commercial flight trackers identified multiple American aerial refuelling tankers that were on a path suggesting that they were accompanying aircraft from the Midwest to the Pacific, raising speculation that something could be afoot.
