Thousands of individuals gathered in various Canadian cities, where they voiced their concerns regarding the approach to teaching sexuality and gender identity in schools, as well as how educators address transgender youth. Protesters alleged that schools were introducing young students to what they referred to as “gender ideology” and insisted that parents had a right to be informed if their children were questioning their gender identity.

Responding to the situation, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau stated, “Transphobia, homophobia, and biphobia have no place in this country. We unequivocally denounce this hatred and its expressions, and we stand in solidarity with 2SLGBTQI+ Canadians nationwide—your identities are valid and you are valued.” Some demonstrators also verbally asserted that being LGBTQ2S+ was a sin, contending that children should not receive instruction about these identities in school.
