WATCH: Jewish students hide in the library while pro-Palestinian protesters beat on the door to get entry

A group of Jewish students had to hide from a screaming gathering of pro-Palestine demonstrators inside a college in New York City on Wednesday. They locked themselves in a library while the crowd pounded on the door. On Wednesday afternoon, ugly scenes occurred at Cooper Union, a liberal institution in Manhattan close to Astor Place. The mob first gathered in the building’s foyer, screaming “Free, free Palestine.”

However, they pushed through a security guard, who angrily exclaimed, “No!” The Jewish students had taken refuge in the library, so they stormed up the stairs and banged on the door. Later, the individuals within the library were let free. The Messenger said that the demonstration had been broken up and that no one was hurt. As per reports, NYPD made no arrests had occurred.

A pro-Palestine sign was torn down by a bystander outside the campus on Wednesday night. The placard was near to posters that highlighted the misery of individuals who had been kidnapped by Hamas. “Killing children is justified?” the sign read. NYPD cops were positioned outside and could be seen entering the building. The Messenger was informed by Kim Newman, a college representative, that the library was “temporarily closed” as the demonstrators passed through the structure. All of the students, she claimed, have become “dispersed.” “Student demonstrators passed through our building for about twenty minutes, during which time the library was closed,” she stated. During this time, a few students who had previously been in the library stayed. Now, every pupil has left the room. The countrywide tension on campuses over the Israel-Hamas conflict is heightened by the student demonstration.
