The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) continued their ground operations in the northern Gaza Strip with the troops eliminating dozens of Hamas terrorists The terrorists killed by Israeli troops during the overnight clashes “had barricaded themselves in buildings and tried to attack the (Israeli) forces,” IDF said. According to the Israeli troops, in one of the incidents, the ground troops directed the Israeli Air Force (IAF) to carry out a drone attack on a building where Hamas operatives were holding a meeting. At the time of attack, there were more than 20 terrorists inside it.

The IDF shared another video in which the troops, during the overnight operation, struck an anti-tank guided missile position and a number of Hamas terrorists who were identified by ground troops near the Al-Azhar University in Gaza. The IDF further said over the past day, it has carried out strikes against some 600 Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip, including weapons storage sites, hideouts, spots where Hamas operatives gather and anti-tank positions. On Saturday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced a “second stage” in the 3-week-old war and said his country is determined to bring back 239 hostages taken by Hamas during its October 7 onslaught. Four of the hostages have been released. More than 1,400 people in Israel have been killed, most of them civilians slain in the initial Hamas rampage October 7. The Palestinian death toll passed 8,000, most of them women and children, according to the Health Ministry in Gaza. In the occupied West Bank, more than 110 Palestinians have been killed in violence and Israeli raids, and on Sunday, a Jewish settler fatally shot a Palestinian man harvesting olives near the city of Nablus.
