A herd of elephants rushed to the rescue of a stranded calf from a muddy ditch after spotting his mother struggling to rescue him.
The cute scene was filmed in Kruger National Park in South Africa on 19 November, and it shows the baby elephant trying desperately to free himself, but to no avail.
The baby’s legs were too short to hoist himself back up and his mother needed some back up from other members of the herd to get him out.
The owner of Wild Wings Safaris, who shot the video told MailOnline , ‘The elephant was probably a couple of months old. When the rest of the herd moved on after drinking, the little one had trouble getting out."
The mother tried demonstrating to the calf by climbing in and climbed out again trying to show him how to do it but it was just too slippery for him.
The mom and calf had to be helped out by an older female from the herd.
