The United States has reportedly dispatched a group of technological specialists to Israel to help with hostage retrieval. According to reports quoting US military sources, the team is there to assist and advise the Israelis on how to release hostages. Hamas terrorists had kidnapped over 100 hostages after the surprise attack on Israel on Sunday. In a statement, President Joe Biden expressed his opinion that some of those abducted and taken to Gaza are probably Americans. He added: “I have directed my team to work with their Israeli counterparts on every aspect of the hostage crisis, including sharing intelligence and deploying experts from across the United States government to consult with and advise Israeli counterparts on hostage recovery efforts.” The US is allegedly working with other nations to organise a strategy to allow safe passage out of Gaza for civilians in addition to helping to free the prisoners. According to the proposed plan, Palestinian people and Americans in Gaza would flee through a southern corridor extending into Egypt, according to NBC. There is a risk that non-Hamas supporters could be killed or rendered homeless as Israel gears up for a possible ground invasion into Gaza. As Israel moves to defeat Hamas, Biden encouraged Benjamin Netanyahu, the prime minister of Israel, to reduce civilian casualties in the Gaza Strip. According to the most recent data provided by the IDF, there have been at least 1,200 Israeli deaths and more than 2,700 injuries. According to the most recent data from Gaza’s Health Ministry, at least 900 Palestinians also perished. Israeli airplanes bombarded the Gaza Strip throughout the night and into the morning on Wednesday, shattering buildings and allegedly hitting over 450 targets. Food, gasoline, and medical supplies can no longer be imported into Gaza by Israel, and the only route from Egypt closed on Tuesday as a result of airstrikes near the border crossing. The violence is expected to worsen further. Additionally, according to the Israeli military, on Tuesday it attacked Syria after rockets struck open regions of Israeli land. The Syrian government made no comments, and the military made no accusations against any specific group for the missile strike.
