More than 60% Americans feel Biden's tenure is a failure, finds survey

The majority of American voters feel that President Joe Biden’s tenure has been a failure, according to the latest CNN-SRSS survey.

The survey found that 61% of registered voters believe Biden’s term has been a failure, with just 39% terming it a success.

In the run-up to the US presidential election, the survey found that Trump has continued to maintain lead over Biden. It also found that the support for Trump among the Republicans is much stronger than the support for Biden among his Democrat constituents.

Trump’s support has increased over time

Overall, Trump has support of 49% registered voters whereas 43% voters support Biden, according to the survey.

While Trump’s support has remained steady since the January’s figures, the support for Biden has since further waned from 45%.

As for the Trump’s presidency, 55% Americans say it was a success while 44% consider it a failure, as per the survey. This is an improvement from January 2021 when, shortly after the attack on the US Capitol by a pro-Trump mob trying to overturn election result, 55% voters said they considered his term to be a failure.

Democrats more divided in support for Biden

The survey also found that Republicans are more united in their support for Trump than Democrats in rallying around Biden.

Trump is the presumptive nominee of the Republican Party in the US presidential election. He is set to challenge Biden of the Democratic Party in the presidential election in November. The two squared off in 2020 election in which Biden defeated Trump with the largest votes —over 80 million— cast for him in any presidential election.

Overall, the CNN-SRSS survey found that 92% of Republicans consider Trump’s term a success while just 73% of Democrats find Biden’s tenure a success so far. Among Independents, who may be a crucial swing voter base in any election, 51% consider Trump’s tenure to be a success and just 37% believe Biden’s term as successful.
