The US border in the state of Texas saw tensions flaring up after a large group of enraged illegal immigrants marched toward the border wall in El Paso, ending up in a melee with Texas’ National Guardsman.
Around 100 illegal immigrants broke through the barbed wires in an attempt to enter the US illegally on Thursday after Texas’ anti-illegal immigration law SB4, was halted by Federal Courts.
Texas has long argued that it has had to bring an anti-immigration law, which was briefly approved by US Supreme Court, because the President Biden-led administration isn’t doing enough to secure the border and deport those who entered the nation illegally.
Riot-like situation at Texas border
A video recorded by The New York Post, shows guards pushing back and closing down gates of the border to stop the mob of illegal migrants from entering US, who were allegedly incited after one family unit was allowed to pass through.
“Get the f–k back!” a soldier can be heard shouting at the illegal immigrants from the other side of the fence.
All the illegal immigrants trying to trespass have been apprehended and will be processed for deportation. The state can also charge the migrants who assaulted the soldiers, Brandon Judd, president of the National Border Patrol Council said.
Record 2.4 million immigrants had hit the Texas border in 2023 seeking entry into the United States.
What is the Texas’ anti-immigration law?
Texas has been trying to secure its border with an anti-immigration law, which allows the state police to arrest immigrants who are suspected of crossing the border illegally.

The US Appeals Court blocked the immigration law, just hours after the Supreme Court allowed the state to enforce measures under it.
The Biden-led government has been opposing the move, arguing that the Texan law infringes federal responsibility over immigration enforcement.
“SB 4 will not only make communities in Texas less safe, it will also burden law enforcement, and sow chaos and confusion at our southern border. SB 4 is just another example of Republican officials politicizing the border while blocking real solutions,” Washington’s press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said in a statement recently.
Mexico said it won’t accept deportations made by Texas “under any circumstances”. The law would lead to “the separation of families, discrimination and racial profiling that violate the human rights of the migrant community,” Mexico’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs had said.
