India’s LPG tanker Shivalik has safely docked at Mundra Port in Gujarat after navigating the tense Strait of Hormuz, carrying around 46,000 tonnes of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG)—a key cooking fuel used across India. The successful arrival is seen as a boost to India’s energy security amid disruptions in West Asia. Indian naval forces and diplomatic efforts helped ensure the vessel’s safe passage through the strategic waterway, which handles a significant share of global oil and gas shipments. Officials said additional LPG carriers are expected soon, while India continues engaging with regional partners to keep the crucial shipping route open and maintain stable fuel supplies.

An Israeli air strike struck a residential apartment near Jabal Amel Hospital at the Ma’rakah junction outside the Lebanese city of Tyre, Lebanon’s National News Agency reported.

One person was killed and five others wounded, with civil defence teams taking the injured to nearby hospitals for treatment.

A projectile hit a building in the northern Israeli city of Nahariya, sparking a fire that spread to several nearby structures, Israeli media reported, cited by Al Jazeera.

Hezbollah claimed responsibility for the rocket and drone attack on the city.

Since the start of the Iran-US war on February 28, at least 12 people in Israel have been killed in Iranian missile strikes.

Shrapnel from Iranian ballistic missiles and debris from Israeli interceptors fell around Jerusalem’s walled Old City and its major Christian, Muslim, and Jewish holy sites on Monday, Israeli police said.

No casualties or significant damage were reported at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre or the Al-Aqsa compound.

US President Donald Trump on Monday said it was unclear whether Iran’s new supreme leader, Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei, is still alive.

In a press briefing, Trump said, “A lot of people are saying that he’s badly disfigured. They’re saying that he lost his leg… Other people are saying he’s dead. Nobody is saying he’s 100% healthy, and he hasn’t spoken.”

A drone strike targeted Iraq’s Majnoon oil field in Basra province on Monday evening, marking the second such incident in four days, officials said.

Saheb Bazoun, spokesperson for Iraq’s Ministry of Oil, told AFP that the field—already shut down—was hit by two drones, one of which crashed into a telecommunications tower, causing no damage.

Another security official said the second drone appeared aimed at offices used by an American company operating at the site. The Majnoon oil field was similarly targeted in a drone strike on Friday.

US President Donald Trump criticised some allies for their lack of enthusiasm in responding to his call to help protect shipping in the Strait of Hormuz amid the Israel-US conflict with Iran.

“For 40 years we’re protecting you, and you don’t want to get involved,” Trump told reporters. “We strongly encourage the other nations to get involved with us and get involved quickly and with great enthusiasm.”

Trump called on countries to help police the strategically vital strait after Iran’s use of drones, missiles, and mines effectively blocked tanker traffic, which normally carries about one-fifth of global oil and liquefied natural gas.

“Some are very enthusiastic about it and some aren’t. Some are countries that we’ve helped for many, many years. We’ve protected them from horrible outside sources, and they weren’t that enthusiastic. And the level of enthusiasm matters to me,” he said.

Several US allies said on Monday they currently have no plans to deploy naval vessels to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

US President Donald Trump said he spoke with French President Emmanuel Macron, who he said is willing to assist in efforts to unblock the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz amid the conflict and disruption in the region.

France, however, has made clear it will not join any war effort and maintains a strictly defensive stance in the Middle East while focusing on protecting navigation and its interests.

US President Donald Trump said American forces attacked Kharg Island and destroyed nearly everything on the island except its oil infrastructure, claiming the decision was taken to allow Iran to rebuild in the future.

“We attacked Kharg Island and literally destroyed everything on the island except the area where the oil is. We left the pipes. We didn’t want to do that, but we could do that on five minutes notice. But for purposes of someday rebuilding Iran, we did the right thing,” Trump said.

The European Union has imposed sanctions on 16 individuals and three entities over what it described as serious human rights violations in Iran.

In a statement, the Council of the EU said the measures target those who played a key role in suppressing street protests in January 2026, which reportedly resulted in thousands of civilian casualties.

With the latest move, the EU has now sanctioned a total of 263 individuals and 53 entities linked to Iran.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has accused some neighbouring countries hosting United States forces of encouraging attacks on Iran.

Araghchi said hundreds of Iranian civilians, including more than 200 children, had been killed in joint strikes carried out by Israel and the United States.

In a post on X, he alleged that certain neighbouring states allowing their territory to be used for attacks were also encouraging the killing of Iranians.

“Stances should be promptly clarified,” he added.

Iran said the current conflict must conclude in a way that prevents its adversaries from attempting similar attacks in the future.

Speaking on the issue, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Tehran’s stance against a ceasefire does not mean it is seeking war, but that the conflict must end decisively.

“The reason we say we do not want a ceasefire is not because we are seeking war, but because this time this war must end in such a way that our enemies never again think of repeating these attacks,” Araghchi said.

“I think they have already learned a good lesson and understood what kind of nation they are dealing with,” he added.

Iran’s new supreme leader Mojtaba Khamenei has issued a written decree directing officials appointed by his late father to remain in their positions without requiring fresh appointments.

The order came after some officials sought clarification about their status following the leadership change.

“Following inquiries from some managers and officials of bodies who were directly appointed by the martyred leader, I hereby announce that none of them need a renewal of their appointment for now,” the decree released on Monday said.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi on Monday said hundreds of Iranian civilians have been killed in US and Israeli airstrikes, including more than 200 children, and accused some neighbouring countries of enabling the attacks.

In a post on X, Araghchi alleged that certain states hosting US military forces had allowed their territory to be used for strikes on Iran and were also encouraging the violence.

“Reports claim that some neighbouring states which host US forces and permit attacks on Iran are also actively encouraging this slaughter. Stances should be promptly clarified,” he said.

The European Union on Monday imposed sanctions on Iranian company Emennet Pasargad over alleged cyber-attacks targeting EU member states and partners, the Council of the European Union said.

In a statement, the council said the company illegally accessed a French subscriber database and attempted to sell the data on the dark web.

It added that Emennet Pasargad also hacked advertising billboards to spread disinformation during the 2024 Paris Olympic Games and compromised a Swedish SMS service, affecting a large number of EU citizens.

Member countries of the International Energy Agency (IEA) have said they can release additional emergency oil stocks if required, noting that more than 1.4 billion barrels would still remain in reserve.

IEA Executive Director Fatih Birol said the current release would reduce emergency stockpiles in member countries by only around 20 percent once completed.

“Despite this huge release, we still have a lot of stocks left. This current stock release, once it is completed, will reduce the emergency stocks in IEA countries only by around 20 percent,” Birol said in a video statement.

At least four fighters from Iraq’s former paramilitary coalition Hashed al-Shaabi were killed in a strike near the country’s western border with Syria, according to two security officials.

The fighters, part of the Popular Mobilisation Forces (PMF) that are now integrated into Iraq’s regular army, were killed when a checkpoint at the entrance to the city of al-Qaim was targeted. Three others were reportedly wounded in the attack.

A PMF official said the death toll could be five and blamed the United States for carrying out the strike on the checkpoint, which housed PMF members along with Iraqi army and police personnel.

India has said it has not held any bilateral discussions with the United States regarding efforts to ensure the safe passage of merchant vessels through the Strait of Hormuz. The clarification from the Ministry of External Affairs came after US President Donald Trump urged several countries to deploy warships to keep the key maritime route open.

Global oil and gas prices have risen amid fears that Iran could disrupt traffic through the narrow waterway linking the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman, which handles about 20 percent of the world’s oil and liquefied natural gas shipments. In a social media post, Trump called on countries including China, France, Japan, South Korea and the United Kingdom to send naval vessels to ensure the route remains “safe and open,” though no major power has announced a concrete response so far.

Warning sirens were activated in Bahrain, the Interior Ministry said, urging residents and citizens to move to the nearest safe location.

Authorities in Qatar also issued an “elevated” security alert, advising residents to remain inside their homes or in safe places, according to reports.

Meanwhile, several Israeli media outlets, including Channel 13, said Iranian missiles or debris from interceptions struck the Bet Shemesh area near Jerusalem.

Clashes have reportedly broken out between Hezbollah fighters and Israeli forces in southern Lebanon, according to Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA).

An NNA correspondent said the fighting is taking place along the Odaisseh–Taybeh axis, an area that has witnessed heavy military activity during Israel’s ongoing operations in the region.

“The enemy is attempting to enter Lebanese territory under a barrage of shelling and gunfire,” the report said.

Iranian missiles or debris from interceptions have reportedly struck the Bet Shemesh area near Jerusalem, according to several Israeli media outlets, including Channel 13.

The scale of the damage is not yet clear, and there were no immediate reports of casualties.

Explosions were reported in Jerusalem after the Israeli military said it had detected missile launches from Iran targeting central Israel and the Jerusalem area.

The Israeli Home Front Command issued alerts warning of incoming missiles and urged residents to follow safety instructions.

Journalists and reporters on the ground said blasts were heard in Jerusalem and parts of central Israel shortly after the warnings were issued.

The White House has urged its allies and regional partners to do more to help reopen the Strait of Hormuz, Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said.

Leavitt said US President Donald Trump is in discussions with European allies as well as partners in the Gulf and the Arab world to coordinate efforts to restore navigation through the strategic waterway.

“Donald Trump is speaking with our allies in Europe, and also many of our partners in the Gulf and Arab world to encourage them to step up to do more to open the Strait of Hormuz — and our NATO allies especially need to step up,” Leavitt said in an interview with Fox News.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi said Tehran is prepared to continue the conflict with the United States and Israel for as long as required, stressing that the country will defend itself without hesitation.

Speaking during a weekly foreign ministry briefing, Araghchi said Iran had demonstrated its resolve and warned its adversaries about the consequences of confrontation.

“I think by now they have learned a good lesson and understood what kind of nation they are dealing with, one that does not hesitate to defend itself and is ready to continue the war wherever it may lead, and take it as far as necessary,” he said.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said it carried out a strike in central Tehran, destroying a compound it claimed was used by Iran to develop capabilities aimed at targeting satellites in space.

According to the IDF, the Israeli Air Force acted on precise intelligence to dismantle the facility, which it described as part of Iran’s military space programme and a potential threat to Israeli satellites as well as other countries’ space assets.

“The compound was used to develop military space programmes, including the development of the ‘Chamran-1’ satellite, which was built by the Iranian Ministry of Defense’s electronics industries and launched into space in September 2024 by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps,” the military said.

Iran has expressed gratitude to Pakistan for its support during the ongoing conflict involving the United States and Israel.

Speaking on the issue, Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi thanked the Pakistani government and people for standing with Tehran during what he described as aggression against the Islamic Republic.

“On this blessed, divine and spiritual day and hour, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the government and people of Pakistan for their full-throated expression of solidarity and support with the people and government of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the face of the aggression from the United States and the Zionist regime,” Araghchi said.

Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz warned on Monday that Lebanese displaced by fighting with Hezbollah would not be allowed to return home until the north of Israel was secure.

“Hundreds of thousands of Shia residents of southern Lebanon who have evacuated and are evacuating their homes from southern Lebanon and Beirut will not return to their homes south of the Litani area until the safety of residents in the north is guaranteed,” Katz told military top brass according to a statement.

US President Donald Trump said that Operation Epic Fury has stopped Iran’s manufacturing capabilities.

He further stated that Iran’s missies have reduced to a low number and they are shooting very few because they’re not left with much missiles.

He was seen interacting with people while surrounded by heavy security.

UAE’s Defence Ministry said it dealt with six ballistic missiles and 21 drones on Monday.

Israeli Ambassador to India Reuven Azar said that Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu is alive and clarified that the cafe video circulating online is not AI-generated.

“Prime Minister Netanyahu is alive. I saw him personally when I was in Israel more than once. And yes, the video of the café is not AI-fabricated,” he said.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said that the Strait of Hormuz is “closed to our enemies.”

“After 15 days of war, they have resorted to others to ensure the security of the Strait of Hormuz, turning to those they considered enemies until yesterday,” said Araghchi, reported AL Jazeera.

A non-Iranian oil tanker transited the Strait of Hormuz with its automatic transponder system activated, despite major disruption to shipping in the crucial waterway from the Middle East war, monitor Marine Traffic said Monday.

“The Aframax tanker Karachi, carrying Abu Dhabi’s Das crude, has become the first non-Iranian cargo to transit the chokepoint while broadcasting its AIS signal, suggesting that select shipments may be receiving negotiated safe passage,” Marine Traffic said in a statement.

Diplomatic talks with Iran are only possible if it ceases its attacks, Qatar’s foreign ministry spokesman said on Monday, as Tehran presses its missile and drone campaign against Gulf states.

“If they stop the attacks, then we can find a way out with diplomacy. But as long as our countries are being attacked, this is not the time to establish committees, it’s the time to take a very principled position (on) protecting our countries and for them to stop attacking us immediately,” Qatar’s foreign ministry spokesman Majed al-Ansari said.

Peter Navarro, head of the White House Office of Trade and Manufacturing Policy, said tensions involving Iran have added roughly $5 to $15 per barrel to crude prices as markets factor in the risk of disruptions to oil shipments through the Strait of Hormuz.

The report estimates that Iran-related risks have historically pushed oil prices 7 per cent to 21 per cent above fundamental levels, costing the global economy between $100 billion and $450 billion annually and potentially exceeding $10 trillion over 25 years, reported news agency Reuters.

Prime Minister Keir Starmer said Monday Britain was working with allies to come up with a “viable” plan to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, the vital oil transport conduit effectively shut by Iran in the Middle East war.

“We’re working with all of our allies, including our European partners, to bring together a viable collective plan that can restore freedom of navigation in the region as quickly as possible and ease the economic impacts,” Starmer told reporters, adding he had discussed the situation with US President Donald Trump.
