On November 5, 2024, polling places across Ohio opened for the US presidential election, allowing residents to cast their votes from 6.30 am until 7.30 pm. This means that in Indian Standard Time (IST), which is 10 hours and 30 minutes ahead of Eastern Standard Time, voting will take place from 5 pm IST to 6.30 am. IST on November 6.

Ohio voters can participate in the election by visiting their designated polling locations, which can be found on the Ohio Secretary of State’s website. To vote, individuals must bring an acceptable form of identification, such as a state-issued driver’s license or a US passport and they must ensure they are in line by 7.30 pm to cast their ballot.
In addition to the presidential race, Ohio will see significant contests for other positions, including a closely watched Senate seat where Republican Bernie Moreno is challenging incumbent Democrat Sherrod Brown. Voters will also decide on several local issues including school levies.
