As US Vice President Kamala Harris shored up support in Michigan, a protester demonstrating against the Gaza war interrupted her speech at the rally on Saturday. While Harris was delivering her remarks, a protester heckled her by chanting “No more Gaza war,” calling for the end of the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas.
Harris briefly paused her speech after being interrupted and looked towards the backstage. The crowd present at the event then chanted over the protesters. As she resumed her speech the vice president addressed the ongoing tensions in the Middle East. “And listen on the topic of Gaza, we must end that war, and we must end the war and bring the hostages home, but now I am speaking about 2024," the Democratic presidential nominee remarked.

This is not the first time an anti-Gaza war protester heckled Harris onstage. Similar instances have happened in the past. Harris is known for taking a more aggressive stance on the matter than her boss, US President Joe Biden. The vice president has been calling for an immediate ceasefire in the region and her position did not sit well with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in the past.

More ShortsTrump garners support from Muslim and Arab leaders
Meanwhile, former US President Donald Trump received a major endorsement from Muslim leaders and Imams during a campaign rally in Novi, Michigan, on Saturday. It is pertinent to note that the endorsement from the Muslim and Arab representatives came just 9 days before the November polls.
“I’m thrilled to accept the endorsement of these highly respected leaders,” Trump told the thundering crowd. While endorsing the former president, the group of leaders cited Trump’s commitment to ending wars and ensuring global peace as a primary reason for their support, describing him as a leader who “promises peace, not war.”
“We, as Muslims, stand with President Trump because he promises peace, not war!” Imam Belal Alzuhairi said. “We are supporting Donald Trump because he promised to end war in the Middle East and Ukraine. The bloodshed has to stop all over the world, and I think this man can make that happen. I personally believe that God saved his life twice for a reason,” he added.
