Kamala Harris exceeded most people’s expectations tonight, says Elon Musk

In a noteworthy performance during the second US presidential debate, Vice President Kamala Harris surpassed many peoples’ expectations, according to tech entrepreneur Elon Musk.

Musk’s post on X, underlined Harris’s impressive debate performance, though he maintained his belief that former President Donald Trump would be more effective in delivering results.

In his post, made sometime after the debate, Musk asserted that debate hosts were not fair to Donald Trump, according to him. He wrote: “While I don’t think the debate hosts were fair to Donald Trump, Kamala Harris exceeded most people’s expectations tonight”.

He then shifted to his opinion on effectiveness, asserting that, despite Harris’s performance, he strongly believes that Trump would be better at getting things done. “After all, if Kamala can do great things, why hasn’t she? Biden rarely shows up for work, so she’s basically in charge alread,” Musk said in his post on X.

In the last part, Musk concluded by calling the election as a choice for Americans between continuing current trends or opting for change. “The question comes down to this: do you want current trends to continue for 4 more years or do you want change?”.

The debate saw Harris effectively challenge Trump on several issues, including his criminal convictions and views on abortion rights. Her assertive demeanor and direct engagement with Trump were marked contrasts to the previous debate’s tone.

Harris’s approach was viewed by many as a significant boost for the Democrats, especially following President Joe Biden’s disappointing performance in June. Her strong showing has led to calls for a second debate, with Trump yet to confirm his participation.

During the debate, Harris demonstrated confidence and command, making a memorable first move by extending a handshake to Trump before the debate began. The gesture was a stark contrast to the previous meeting between Trump and Biden, where no handshake was exchanged.
