On Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi joined a host of world leaders on X, congratulating former US President Donald Trump on his remarkable victory against all odds. Trump clinched a stunning second term in the White House, overcoming Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic nominee, in a fierce battle for the presidency.

“Heartiest congratulations my friend on your historic election victory. As you build on the successes of your previous term, I look forward to renewing our collaboration to further strengthen the India-US Comprehensive Global and Strategic Partnership. Together, let’s work for the betterment of our people and to promote global peace, stability and prosperity,” said Prime Minister Modi.

French President Emmanuel Macron was among the first to extend his congratulations to Donald Trump, despite the growing apprehension across Europe about what a second term for Trump might mean for the continent. Yet, Macron remained focused on the future, expressing his willingness to continue the collaboration that had defined the past four years. “Congratulations, President Donald Trump. Ready to work together as we have done for four years,” he remarked with a spirit of diplomatic resolve.
