Denmark announced on Wednesday that Ukrainian weapons maker Fire Point will set up production of fuel for long-range missiles on Danish soil, the first time a Ukrainian defence company expands operations abroad.
Fire Point, the manufacturer of Flamingo missiles, described by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy as Ukraine’s most effective weapon will establish the facility near Denmark’s Skydstrup air force base, home to the country’s F-16 fleet.
“This is a helping hand to Ukraine’s struggle for security, independence and, not least, its chance to live in peace,” said Danish Defence Minister Troels Lund Poulsen.
Copenhagen has been one of Kyiv’s most committed backers since Russia’s 2022 invasion, contributing 67.6 billion Danish crowns ($10.13 billion) in military aid to date, according to the foreign ministry. A separate fund of 500 million crowns has also been earmarked to help Ukrainian companies expand in Denmark.
The Danish government recently allocated 500 million crowns to support Ukrainian firms expanding in the Nordic country.
