Turkey wants a deescalation between Pakistan and India, President Tayyip Erdogan said on Monday, after the two exchanged small arms fire following last week’s deadly attack on tourists in Kashmir.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Monday called for an urgent de-escalation of tensions between Pakistan and India, warning that continued hostilities could lead to a more serious crisis.

Speaking at a news conference after a Cabinet meeting in Ankara, Erdoğan emphasised that Turkey wants both sides to step back quickly to prevent further escalation amid ongoing cross-border exchanges in Kashmir.
