In a renewed and fiery claim on his Truth Social platform, US President Donald Trump has once again accused his predecessor, Joe Biden, of orchestrating the presence of federal agents within the January 6, 2021, Capitol riot crowds.

The Republican leader, whose own rhetoric is widely seen as having incited the violent breach, specifically alleged that the “BIDEN FBI PLACED 274 AGENTS INTO THE CROWD ON JANUARY 6.”

Trump insisted that if his assertion is accurate—which he stated “it is”—then “a lot of very good people will be owed big apologies,” echoing his consistent defence of those charged in connection with the insurrection. He concluded his post with an energized call to action: “DO SOMETHING!!!”

This allegation is not new.

Just last month, the President made a similar accusation, calling the riot a “hoax” and claiming the FBI had “secretly placed… 274 FBI Agents into the Crowd.” He previously suggested these agents were “probably acting as Agitators and Insurrectionists.”

Trump’s renewed claims come as he faces a federal indictment related to his efforts to overturn the 2020 election results in the lead-up to the Capitol violence.

While he was recently protected from conviction by his return to the White House, a report by former Special Counsel [under Biden] Jack Smith asserted that the charges against him would have led to a conviction otherwise.
