US President Donald Trump has vowed to work towards ending the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war at his first address to the Congress on Tuesday, terming the ongoing conflict as a “madness”.
Trump said at the address that he received an important letter from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy earlier today, which states that Kyiv is “ready to come to the negotiating table for peace as soon as possible".
“We received an important letter from the Ukrainian President, saying we are ready to work under the US President for peace and regarding the agreement on minerals. Simultaneously, we received signals from Russia that they were ready for peace," Trump said.

Trump clashes with Zelenskyy in White House
Earlier, during Zelenskyy visit to the White House, Trump and Ukrainian President got engaged in a contentious exchange in press briefing, that led to an abrupt end to their discussions.
The meeting, intended to address ongoing support for Ukraine amid its conflict with Russia, instead highlighted deep-seated tensions between the two leaders.
Afterwards, President Trump paused all US military aid to Ukraine until a commitment to peace negotiations was evident.
