Together in Tehran: Iranians raise 'walls of kindness' to help the homeless

Iranians have come together to create ‘walls of kindness’ to help the homeless facing the harsh cold climate conditions and the country’s worrisome economic dip. According to the BBC, the first-of-its-kind initiative, the wall of kindness appeared in the city of Mashad, with a few hooks and hangers placed on a wall, alongside the words: “If you don’t need it, leave it. If you need it, take it.”

The originator of the concept remains unknown, but the effort is lauded all across social media with its core message of not letting anyone die in the bare cold weather conditions. Official figures say that there are around 15,000 homeless individuals in Iran, however, other documents bring to notice that there could be as many more in the just the capital itself. And it’s not difficult to recreate it your own country, all you need to do is to hang hooks on public walls and make it accessible to all and leave it for the public to make it their own.
