Time to name and shame: Mahavir Tents cheats Nepal quake relief NGO

A foreign relief team to Nepal  has purchased 200 high quality tents from a Delhi-based company called Mahavir Tents for $67 each, amounting to a total of $13,400. But they did not get what was promised.  The tents arrived days later than the stipulated delivery date and they claim that the tents were “totally different” from the pictures that were sent to them when the tents left Delhi. Most of them have holes in them as can be seen in the video. [caption id=“attachment_2275204” align=“alignleft” width=“380”] ![Screen grab from video.](https://images.firstpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/name-and-shame.png) Screen grab from video.[/caption] Philip Fluck from the United Kingdom gave an interview to _Arthiknew_s saying that when he spoke to the owner “Mr Jain”, he was told there was no chance of getting any money back or the tents being replaced. “Is this what the people of Nepal deserve?” he asks the local news channel. “I would not give these tents to anybody.” Jordan from Malaysia has travelled to Nepal to help the people and looks devastated in the video. “We felt that we are cheated, this is not the tent we wanted,” he says. “We paid for a canvas tent and they have sent us a PVC tent.” The owner sent the relief team pictures of the truck loaded with the tents they wanted and the vehicle’s registration number as it was stuck in customs. The vehicle that has arrived is a different vehicle with a different number plate as shown in the video. Fluck alleges that the driver has confirmed to them that there were two trucks that left the factory. “So many people are being cheated because people are looking to make money from the Nepal tragedy and the people are being cheated. It’s people making money out of misery,” he quips. Watch the video here.
