Three teenagers, aged 15, 16 and 18, were playing Pokemon Go in Whittington Park late Friday when they were approached by three masked youths, including one who pointed a gun at them, London’s Metropolitan Police said.

The three victims were shocked but unharmed after the robbery, which followed another robbery of a 24-year-old man 30 minutes earlier. Police said they believed the two incidents are linked.

“These were really shocking attacks on young people walking around a much-loved park,” said investigating officer Kevin Yeung.

“Robberies where a gun is shown or indicated are very rare and we are keen to apprehend those involved as soon as possible,” Yeung said.

The hugely popular Pokemon Go game requires players to explore with their smartphones to capture Pokemons - cute, virtual creatures superimposed over real scenes filmed by the phones’ cameras.
