This Turkish couple decided to feed 4,000 Syrian refugees as part of their wedding celebrations

Have you always dreamed of your wedding day? Big banquet dinner, dramatic clothes, lots of flowers — most of our ambitions for our wedding revolve around ourselves and rightly so. However, Fethullah Üzümcüoğlu and Esra Polat showed us there is great joy in looking beyond ourselves during a wedding. They are a Turkish couple who got married recently in the Kilis province on the Syrian border and decided celebrate their wedding in an unconventional manner. They invited 4,000 Syrian refugees to eat with them on their wedding day. It was such a wonderful experience. I’m happy that we had the opportunity to share our wedding meal with the people who are in real need,” said the bride Esra Polat to i100 Independant. According to Telegraph, it was originally the groom’s father’s idea to include the refugees in their wedding party. He even told local newspapers that he hoped others would follow suit. “God willing, this will lead to others doing the same and giving food to our Syrian brothers and sisters. For us, it was an interesting wedding dinner,” said the father to Telegraph.
