#TheDress 2.0: Now Twitter has gone berserk over matching shoes and nail polish

It’s happening again. After the #TheDress debacle , now it’s nail polish and a pair of shoes that are testing the color detecting abilities of the Twitterati. On Thursday, Twitter user @totallymendes posted this image and asked a simple “Which color matches the shoes the best[?]”

But it didn’t take long to swirl up a storm on Twitter.

Although some solutions were offered, using the rather homely MS Paint.

Jason Silva, host of National Geographic’s Brain Games, in an interview with the Time  explains how the color exists in our brain and is not an objective feature of reality. “We don’t see the world objectively as is, we see the world through the lens of our preconceptions, cultural operating systems … reality is coupled to perception, so change perception, you change reality.” We are not rushing to any conclusion.
