Thailand says 2 citizens killed, 8 injured, 11 kidnapped in Hamas attack on Israel

The prime minister of Thailand announced Sunday afternoon that it is now clear that two Thai citizens perished in the Hamas attacks on Israel on Saturday. According to Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin, Pannabha Chandraramya, Thailand’s ambassador to Tel Aviv confirmed death of one more Thai person in the violence, bringing the total to two. The ambassador claimed that terrorists from Hamas had abducted persons of various nationalities and that clashes were still taking place near the Gaza Strip’s border. She claimed that although Israel had only retaken two sites, neither of them had Thai workplaces. According to the foreign affairs minister Parnpree Bahiddha-Nukara, 11 Thais were taken into custody and eight Thais were hurt. Five of the eight injured Thais were taken to the hospital, while three more were waiting for rescue, according to the minister. The Hamas attacks, according to Srettha, resulted in the death of a Thai worker and the detention of roughly 11 others, while a complete sky lockdown delayed evacuations. Srettha stated that there was an unsubstantiated report that one Thai was slain and around 11 others were held in Israel prior to his international trip, which was scheduled to last from Sunday to Thursday. The precise number of injured Thai persons there had not been disclosed to him. The prime minister pledged to utilize every diplomatic tool at his disposal to secure the release of the Thai victims. “They are innocent and have nothing to do with any conflict,” he stated. According to Bangkok, there are 5,000 Thai citizens living in southern Israel areas that are currently under a state of conflict. The majority work as farmhands in rural areas, some of which were attacked during Saturday’s initial assault. There were definitely two more Thai nationals killed. According to Thawatchai and Thongkhoon Onkeaw, their son Natthaporn Onkeaw, 26, is pictured in a photo purporting to depict Thai laborers being held by Hamas gunmen, the Post writes. The image, which was shared on the Telegram messaging app, depicts masked gunmen aiming firearms at at least five individuals who are seated in the earth with their hands behind their backs in what appears to be a bunker. The British Embassy also confirmed that British-Israeli Jake Marlow, who attended a desert party close to Kibbutz Re’im, is missing in the region. Marlow, who relocated to Israel two years ago, was working security, according to sources, and has been missing since Saturday morning at 8:45 a.m. Videos taken at the event revealed other attendees being held captive by Hamas. Tzipi Hotovely, the Israeli ambassador to the UK, told that she thought a British national had been kidnapped, but the Israeli embassy then withdrew the statement. People in Israel were instructed to stay indoors during the ongoing lockdown procedures, according to Srettha, who added that there had been no definitive word on the whereabouts of the impacted Thais. In Israel, where “the situation remains of concern,” the air force was preparing transport aircraft for the evacuation of Thai citizens, he said. He sent the Thai envoy in Israel the advice to maintain the aircraft nearby for speedy evacuation when necessary. He claimed that the Israeli sky was still entirely opaque. The prime minister claimed that one flight could accommodate 423 passengers. About 5,000 of the 25,000 Thai employees in Israel were in locations that were under lockdown. Jakkapong Sangmanee, the deputy foreign minister, was expelled from Srettha’s travel party and instructed to stay in the nation to oversee actions pertaining to the situation in Israel.
