Taiwan will build a more defensive air system to counter China’s actions and provide a multi-layer action against the enemies. The President of Taiwan Lai Ching-te unveiled a defence system called “T-Dome” on Friday that plans to modernise the defence sector and ramp up military and political pressure.
Taiwan is expanding its defence sector and spending a lot on its military but it faces pressure from China. China has a large and massive military force with higher advanced weapons which depends on political growth.
Defence Minister of Taiwan, Wellington Koo said, “The President’s proposal referred to the “sensor-to-shooter” concept, to integrate systems for a faster, more effective response to enemy targets."
A special budget to come by the end of the year will focus on new equipment for the “T-Dome”, he added.
“T-Dome” will help Taiwan to make a military shield and modernise the defence system. It fulfills Taiwan’s asymmetric approach to warfare and builds a stronger force that will help them to build a power-packed defence system to target a massive force.
Beijing is spending much more on its defence sector and developing new weapons to strengthen the armed forces while facing a major crackdown on corruption charges. Lai has also pledged to increase defence spending by 5 per cent of GDP by 2030.
