Syrian Observatory says Syrian army, allies push into Palmyra | Reuters

BEIRUT The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitoring group said the Syrian army and its allies pushed into the historic city of Palmyra on Wednesday, driving back Islamic State insurgents.The government forces entered a neighbourhood in the west of the city, the Britain-based Observatory reported.
