BUCHAREST Romania's Social Democrat party (PSD), winner of a Dec. 11 parliamentary election, on Wednesday proposed former telecommunications minister Sorin Grindeanu, a 43-year-old senior PSD member, for prime minister."Sorin Grindeanu goes there (to lead the government) for a full four-year term as prime minister," PSD leader Liviu Dragnea told reporters.PSD's first pick to lead the cabinet was Sevil Shhaideh, a close associate of Dragnea - ruled out of the job due to a criminal conviction in a 2012 referendum rigging case - but she was rejected by the president.

President Klaus Iohannis is expected to name a new prime minister-designate on Thursday.
