Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, who is said to be hugely popular among the Indians- including the Gujarati population- living in the US and Canada has not been able to reach out to them in person due to denial of a visa by the US. Singh will also visit Washington and deliver the key-note address on “India–Afghanistan and Regional Security” being organised by Foundation for India and Indian Diaspora Studies and the United States India Political Action Committee. This programme is scheduled at the historic Rayburn House Building at Capitol Hill on 23 July. Singh will meet members of the US House of Representatives and interact with Republicans and Democrats during his US tour. He will also interact with Indian– American business leaders. PTI
