Former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has made a string of claims in his upcoming memoir ‘Unleashed’.
In the book whose extracts have been released to the media in recent days, Johnson has made startling claims regarding late Queen Elizabeth II, French President Emmanuel Macron, and practically invading a foreign country to secure vaccine supplies for the United Kingdom.
Johnson became the Leader of the Conservative Party in 2019 and subsequently the Prime Minister of the UK. Later that year, he led the Conservatives to a landslide victory in general elections. Three years later, however, he resigned both as the premier and MP in disgrace after a string of scandals, main among them being the illegal parties at 10 Downing Street during Covid-19 lockdowns.
Now, two years after the disgraced exit from politics and public life, Johnson has come up with the book — and many startling claims.
‘Queen had bone cancer’
In the first-ever comment on Queen Elizabeth II’s health by a prominent British politician, Johnson has claimed she had a form of bone cancer for over a year.
Johnson said he had “known for a year or more” that the Queen “had a form of bone cancer” when he resigned in September 2022, according to Politico.
The Queen died just two days after Johnson’s resignation and the appointment of Liz Truss, Johnson’s successor who would resign with weeks, as the Prime Minister of UK would be her last major official act.

View AllNotably, the Queen’s death certificate had “old age” as the cause of death and there was no indication of cancer.
The Queen’s health, as with any British monarch, is a closely-guarded secret and Johnson’s comment is almost unprecedented.
Recalling the final meeting with the Queen when he resigned, Johnson said she “seemed pale and more stooped, and she had dark bruising on her hands and wrists, probably from drips or injections”. It has previously been noted by people that she appeared to have a bruise on her hand which appeared to be from intravenous drips.
Even as it appeared that she had very recently had intravenous treatment, the Queen’s mood was “completely unimpaired by her illness, and from time to time in our conversation she still flashed that great white smile in its sudden mood-lifting beauty”, wrote Johnson.
Johnson said that the Queen knew “all summer that she was going, but was determined to hang on and do her last duty” by seeing through the government’s transition from Johnson to his Truss.
Macron & Cameron retaliated over Brexit, claims Johnson
Macron and former British PM David Cameron retaliated over Johnson’s stance on Brexit, according to the new book.
Johnson in the book has accused Macron of “weaponising” irregular migration to undermine Brexit, according to Politico.
Johnson said that Macron seemed ready to turn a blind eye to gangs smuggling illegal immigrants across the English Channel. He linked this to his championing the Brexit, which he said Macron saw as “a terrible snub to the EU and to his view of the world”.
As for Cameron, Johnson said that he was offered the top five Cabinet positions if he dropped his position on Brexit and changed stance to remain within the European Union (EU). He said that Cameron threatened to “f*** you up for ever” if he refused to accept the offer — which he later did.
‘Aquatic raid’ to secure vaccines
At one point when nations were scrambling to secure Covid-19 vaccine supplies, Johnson claimed in the book that he considered launching an “aquatic raid” on a warehouse in the Netherlands to retrieve vaccines during a supply row with the EU, according to AFP.
Johnson himself admitted the plan was “nuts”.
Johnson, however, still discussed the plan with senior military officials in March 2021, who advised him it would be impossible to carry out such a raid undetected and it would also likely raise questions as the Netherlands is a NATO ally.
