Quake of magnitude 6.2 strikes in southern Japan - USGS | Reuters

SINGAPORE An earthquake of magnitude 6.2 struck 11 km (7 miles) east of Kumamoto in southern Japan, the U.S. Geological Survey reported on Thursday.

There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage, or of a tsunami warning.
