UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak extended support for Israel, saying that the country has the right to defend itself in line with international law and to go after Hamas to bring hostages back, deter further incursions and strengthen its security. In a joint press briefing with Israel’s PM Benjamin Netanyahu in Tel Aviv, Sunak said: “We absolutely support Israel’s right to defend themselves in line with international law and to go after Hamas to take back hostages, deter further incursions and to strengthen your security for the long term,”. “I want to thank you for your solidarity, clear unwavering support from the day this war began. I think the fact that you came to Israel does this a lot, I said to President Biden yesterday that there is one thing more heartwarming than standing Israel is standing in Israel,”.
British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak told Israeli President Isaac Herzog that the UK stood in solidarity with Israel as the two met there on Thursday, with Sunak adding that it was also important to provide humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza.
