HAVANA Pope Francis landed in Cuba on Friday to meet Patriarch Kirill for the first encounter in history between a Roman Catholic pope and the leader of the Russian Orthodox Church.
After a scheduled three and a half hours at Havana's international airport, the pope was due to continue on to Mexico for a five-day visit.
