On Wednesday, Modi, who is now in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for a two-day visit, is scheduled to dedicate Abu Dhabi’s first Hindu temple. Built on around 27 acres of land, the Bochasanwasi Shri Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS) Mandir is located in Abu Mureikhah, close to Al Rahba. The UAE government provided the site for the structure, and construction on it began in 2019. Before PM Modi spoke today at the World Government Summit, the Burj Khalifa lit up with the words “Guest of Honor - the Republic of India”. The BAPS Hindu Mandir is the Middle East’s first traditional Hindu stone temple. Situated in the Abu Mureikhah area, the majestic structure embodies the spirit of cultural peace and collaboration and is also a reflection of the enduring friendship between India and the UAE.
