Kuala Lumpur: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday left for Singapore after wrapping up his three-day visit to Malaysia during which he attended the Asean and East Asia Summits besides holding talks with his Malaysian counterpart. PTI[/caption] Modi thanked the Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak and the people for the warm welcome he received and tweeted that the government had made great arrangements for him. He added that the outcomes of all the meetings in Malaysia will benefit not only India but also the world. On his arrival in Malaysia, Modi was greeted with a hug by Razak at Putrajaya, the federal administrative centre of Malaysia, following which he was accorded a guard of honour. Modi attended the 13th Asean (Association of Southeast Asian Nations)-India Summit on Saturday and the 10th East Asia Summit on Sunday. During his three-day visit, Modi inaugurated the Torana Gate, a symbol of friendship between the two countries. He also emphasised the need for the two countries to cooperate on defence strategies and strengthen their ties.
