Peshawar school attack fabrication: Blaming India is immature, Pakistan must grow up

The latest Pakistani claim that India was behind the December 2014 Peshawar school attack does not come as a surprise given Pakistan’s penchant for blatantly lying from time to time primarily to divert attention of the world from domestic challenges. Pakistan, which was formed on the basis of religion, has been unfortunately a victim of self-seeking leaders and been under the sweeping influence of the army which has been motoring along for decades on the fuel of anti-Indiaism. The founding father of Pakistan, Mohammad Ali Jinnah, who had a dream of a secular and a tolerant Pakistan, did not live long after its formation. [caption id=“attachment_2002121” align=“alignleft” width=“380”] ![Pakistan received a warning about the Peshawar school attack in August. AP](https://images.firstpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/Peshawar_school_attack_AP14.jpg) Pakistan received a warning about the Peshawar school attack in August. AP[/caption] The leaders who followed him were not visionaries and gave in to the demands of the fundamentalist elements. Pakistan’s doom laterally commenced during the leadership of General Zia-ul-Haq, who himself being a fundamentalist, introduced the army to the phenomenon of fundamentalism simultaneously injecting venom into the psyche of the uniformed men the worst form of hatred for India. This obnoxious mindset has so deeply spread into the Pakistani system that they are compelled to hold India responsible for whatever turmoil Pakistan faces. Pakistan’s claim that the Peshawar attack was the handiwork of India is nothing short of a crude joke as the attack was claimed by Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). This kind of a senseless and baseless allegation is but one of the many such innumerable charades. Pakistan, which is a declared nuclear weapon power for last 16 years, is expected to be more responsible. When one talks of nuclear, the name of the father of Pakistan’s nuclear efforts AQ Khan cannot but be remembered, who ran a global nuclear mart and sold nuclear know-how for whatever he could get in return. The world is fully aware of Pakistan’s credentials. All the efforts made by Indian leaders have gone waste, with Pakistan, on every occasion exhibiting its untrustworthy character. How can one forget the gesture of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who tried to take India-Pakistan relationship further with a bus ride to Lahore and the gift General Pervez Musahrraf returned in the form of the Kargil war? Despite this deception of a third category, India generously entertained Musharraf later in Agra, a trip which allowed him a timely opportunity to dump the title “Chief Executive” and take over as President. If one goes back to 1947, in October that year Pakistani tribals with tacit approval of and with full support of the Pakistan Army invaded Kashmir only to be driven back by the Indian Army. Pakistan never accepts its support to the tribals. In Kashmir, Pakistan has been claiming that it is only providing moral support to the freedom struggle of the Kashmiris. In reality, Pakistan has been instrumental in spreading violence in Kashmir and its involvement in killing of numerous moderate Kashmiri leaders who deviated from the Pakistani agenda, amply proved. In Afghanistan, Pakistan has been involved in a number of attacks on Indian interests including attacks on the Indian missions there. Despite convincing evidence, Pakistan has always denied its hand in the attacks. The Mumbai massacre of 26/11 is something that, leave alone India, the world can never come to terms with. One of the terrorists, Ajmal Kasab, who was caught alive and later hanged after trial, spilled the beans of Pakistani involvement in the attack and that they were continuously directed over phone during the entire massacre. The prime accused, Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi, was the mastermind who gave directions to the terrorists and is in Pakistan, in custody. However, not much progress is being made in the case with Pakistani establishment bent upon saving the culprit. Pakistan had, at Ufa, promised to extend all possible help in the Lakhvi case including providing assistance in connection with voice recognition of Lakhvi. But to everyone’s surprise (if at all such a behaviour by Pakistan can be one) within hours Pakistan backtracked on its promise. A more recent lie of Pakistan, maybe unwittingly, exposed by its ‘all weather friend’ China. It is about the drone that was reportedly shot down which allegedly belonged to India. Unfortunately for Pakistan, the Chinese media confirmed that the drone was in fact of Chinese make, making it difficult for Pakistan to yet again save its face on being caught with yet another lie.
