The incident started Friday when a Muslim accused a Christian of making offensive comments about Islam’s Prophet Muhammad. Police official Rai Tahir said Sunday that a majority of the suspects were identified through TV footage of the violence. The Christian man, who is in police custody, is being investigated for alleged blasphemy, which in Pakistan can be punished by life in prison or death. Another police official, Abdur Rehman, says those who rioted are being investigated for alleged arson, robbery, theft, and terrorism. Associated Press
