The prime minister had spent last Saturday in meetings aimed at devising a concerted strategy to ensure the effective implementation of points highlighted by the NAP, which was later agreed upon by all political parties.

The NAP was drafted in the wake of the 16 December Peshawar school attack to chalk out a comprehensive strategy to combat terrorism.

A parliamentary committee was formed in this regard which evaluated the post-Peshawar tragedy scenario and necessary laws and amendments in relation to terrorism were discussed.
