Islamabad: Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Thursday called for an all party conference on 9 September to chalk out an new counter-terrorism policy. Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Khan telephoned leaders including Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf to participate in the all party conference. “He invited them on behalf of Prime Minister. Reuters[/caption] The APC is likely to discuss the issue of proposed talks with Taliban. The federal government had made public its plan to hold talks with the Taliban. However, the Taliban has said that it is yet to take a decision on the matter. The government has asserted that the security establishment is on board. The PML-N government, which came to power in June, is grappling with a Taliban insurgency and several other militant groups. Since Sharif became the premier, the Taliban carried out a daring jailbreak in Dera Ismail Khan that freed nearly 250 prisoners while 10 foreign climbers were gunned down at a mountaineering camp in northern Pakistan.
