Police on Wednesday released sketches of the suspected terrorists involved in the deadly attack on tourists the day before in Pahalgam, which claimed 26 lives.
A massive search operation is underway in the Pahalgam hills to trace the attackers.
The three men believed to be behind the attack are Asif Fauji, Suleman Shah, and Abu Talha.
The Resistance Front, a group linked to Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), has claimed responsibility for the terror attack.
Meanwhile, the bodies of the 26 tourists killed in the attack were brought to Srinagar today. Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who reached the city shortly after the incident, paid tribute by laying wreaths on the coffins at the Police Control Room.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi cut short his visit to Saudi Arabia and returned to Delhi on Wednesday to hold an emergency meeting with National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, and Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri.
Meanwhile, a National Investigation Agency (NIA) team, led by an inspector general, has been sent to Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir. The team will assist local police in investigating Tuesday’s terror attack that killed 26 people, mostly tourists from across India.
