The Pakistan Army opened unprovoked small arms fire across the Line of Control (LoC) on the night of April 28–29, targeting areas opposite Kupwara, Baramulla, and the Akhnoor sector.
This marked the fifth consecutive day of such firing . These developments come after tensions rose between the two nuclear-armed nations following the deadly Pahalgam terror attack by Pakistani terrorists, which killed 26 innocent people, mostly tourists.
Earlier, the Indian Army gave a strong response to Pakistan Army firing along the LoC on the night of April 26–27, targeting areas near the Tutmari Gali and Rampur sectors.
Earlier on Monday, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi to brief him on the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir and the military’s readiness after the Pahalgam terror attack.
The 40-minute meeting came just hours after the Pakistan Army fired on several Indian posts along the Line of Control (LoC).
