In a sign Compaore has not yet settled on a long-term plan, the report said he would be in the country for a “fixed” term. No other details were given. Morocco’s foreign affairs ministry expressed support for Burkina Faso’s transition process. Longtime diplomat Michel Kafando was sworn in as interim president on Tuesday. On Wednesday, Lt. Col. Isaac Yacouba Zida, who briefly seized control after Compaore resigned, was named interim prime minister. Elections are expected next year. AP
