Indian strikes in Pakistan and Pakistan Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (POJK) have killed around 80 terrrorists, according to a report.

India conducted strikes on nine terrorist sites in Pakistan and POJK in the early hours of Wednesday in response to the Pahalgam attack. India called the action ‘Operation Sindoor’.

The sites attacked were those from “where terrorist attacks against India have been planned and directed”, the Ministry of Defence said in a statement.

Sources said that four of the nine sites were located in Pakistan-proper and five were in POJK.

The targets included facilities linked to terrorist groups Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), and Hizbul Mujahideen.

Among major targets struck were JeM’s strongholds in Pakistani Punjab’s Bahawalpur and Muridke where at least 25-30 terrorists were killed, according to sources.

JeM has its headquarter in Bahawalpur whereas Lashkar-e-Taiba’s HQ is in Muridke.

Sources said that India struck the LeT’s HQ at Muridke.

Other locations that were struck included JeM-linked Sarjal at Tehra Kalan, Markaz Abbas at Kotli, and Syedna Bilal camp in POJK’s Muzaffarabad and LeT-linked Markaz Ahle Hadith in Barnala and Shwawai Nalla camp in Muzaffarabad, according to sources.
