It’s October 7 today. Just a year ago, Hamas, an Iran-backed Palestinian terrorist group, attacked Israel forcing Benjamin Netanyahu-led government giving a fitting response. In this one year, Israeli forces launched offensive strike in the Gaza Strip, followed by the West Bank and Lebanon.
The one year of Israel-Hamas war comes with Israeli troops engaged in a fresh war in Lebanon against Hezbollah.
Israel’s year-long offensive in Gaza, launched in response to October 7 Hamas’ attack, has killed tens of thousands of Palestinians and caused widespread destruction in the besieged coastal enclave.
According to a report by Times of Israel, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) on Monday published a data on its operation in the Gaza Strip.
As per IDF, some 17,000 Hamas operatives and members of other terror groups have been killed by them in the Gaza Strip since the beginning of the war. This was in addition to some 1,000 terrorists inside Israel on October 7.
In its data, IDF said that the Israeli troops have killed eight Hamas brigade commanders and those of an equivalent rank, as well as more than 30 battalion commanders. Over 165 Hamas company commanders and operatives with a similar rank have also been killed, according to the data.
“Some 40,300 targets have been struck in the Gaza Strip since the beginning of the war, and troops have located some 4,700 tunnel shafts,” the IDF said.
In Lebanon, the IDF said that it has eliminated more than 800 terror operatives, mostly members of the Iran-backed Hezbollah. The number included 90 Hezbollah commanders.

The IDF went on to say that a total of 728 soldiers, reservists, and local security officers have been killed and another 4,576 have been wounded in the war since October 7. Of them, 346 were killed and 2,299 were wounded during the ground offensive in Gaza.
It also mentioned that 56 soldiers killed due to friendly fire in Gaza and other military-related accidents.
