The talks between the NSAs of the nuclear-armed neighbours could signal a potential de-escalation following India’s most successful counter-terror operation on Pakistani soil.

India conducted missile strikes on nine terror targets in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, with Indian forces aiming to target top Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba leaders for their role in orchestrating terror attacks in India.

Precise strikes on terror

In the early hours of Wednesday, Indian forces carried out precise strikes on terrorist infrastructure across the border. The Ministry of Defence stated that the strikes were focused, measured, and non-escalatory, with no Pakistani military sites targeted.
