No progress made on accommodation for Pak migrants

Jodhpur: A day after the Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot assured the Pakistani Hindu migrants assistance regarding shelter and food, the migrants alleged that the administration were trying to “divide” them along the caste line. “Instead of fulfilling the reasonable demand of the SLS, the attempts are being made to divide the migrants by sending some persons from their community suggesting them to shift their faith from SLS to the local community leaders,” president of SLS, Hindu Singh Sodha said. [caption id=“attachment_459081” align=“alignleft” width=“380”]  Pic used for representational purposes only.[/caption] A volunteer of SLS claimed that some JMC officials tried to convince the migrants that they should toe the lines of their local community leaders inspite of Sodha, who is from Rajput community. However, the district collector Siddharth Mahajan denied the allegation, saying that the officials must have gone to meet them as a matter of courtesy. Meanwhile, no progress has been made on the issue of accommodation of the 171 migrants, including 32 women and children, who had arrived here from Pakistan to seek refuge. PTI
